Malta Industrial Parks Limited has submitted an application with the Planning Authority for outline development permission for a 17-storey high-rise building in Mriehel, on a vacant site presently used as a car park.

Malta Industrial Parks Ltd (MIP) is responsible for the administration of the government-owned industrial parks and related facilities around Malta and Gozo, as well as supporting and promoting their further development.

The site is located on Tris is-Salib. The application would also include five-levels of underground car park space. According to the artistic impression, the total building area would stand at 10,470sqm.

The building will include offices, retail establishments, food and drink establishmens. In his artistic impression, architect John Rizzo Naudi says “the concept is to move towards dynamism and create forms with structures. The idea is to achieve complexity through layers of simplicity.” It also indicates that the underground car park will include 175 spaces.

This is not the only high-rise project planned for the area, with the Gasan towers having been approved last year.
