Thirty three athletes from the Malta Karate Federation participated in the 4^thedition of The Small States of Europe Karate Championships which were held in Andorra recently.

Success for Malta Team which placed 1^st in the Individual Kata Categories, 2^nd in Individual Kumite, 3^rd in Team Kata and 4^th in Team Kumite obtaining an overall 3^rd place winning 11 Gold, 11 Silver and 12 Bronze.

Two hundred and fifty athletes from Andorra, Cyprus, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco and San Marino participated in this event.

The Malta Team was accompanied by Ms Audrey Zammit as Head of Delegation, Technical Director Sensei James, Technical Co-ordinator Sensei Jesmond Zammit,  National Coaches Kata Sensei Joe Tanti and Sensei Michelle Vella, National Coaches Kumite Sensei Josef Antonelli and Sensei Joseph Mizzi.

MKF Chief Referee Sensei Anthony Zammit 6^th Dan and Sensei Frank Vella formed part of referees panel for these championships.

 'It is encouraging to see this consistency in results achieved abroad by MKF.  Yesterday, the MKF hosted Maestro Santo Torre 8^th Dan during a training seminar (till tomottow) as part of an ongoing training programme,' said MKF Technical Director Sensei James Galea.
