Friday, 20 October 2017, 09:52 Last update: about 8 years ago

Four days after the brutal murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia, investigators and forensic  experts have now cleared the site of all evidence.

The multiple police vans, armed forces jeep, tents and flood lights have all been cleared from the area. During a crime conference yesterday evening addressed chiefly by Police Commissioner Lawrence Cutajar, said that forensic experts would be on site until yesterday evening. This is confirmed by images taken this morning on site.

Four members of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) and four Dutch forensics experts are assisting the Malta Police Force in solving the brutal murder, when a car bomb went off while Caruana Galizia was driving a rental car just metres from her home in Bidnija.

The torched car has been taken to a police facility in Pembroke for examination, while it is assumed that all other pieces of evidence have been taken to respective police facilities for similar investigation.

An autopsy is taking place today, as confirmed by Cutajar yesterday evening.
