The Labour Party’s women’s branch today condemned what it said were disparaging remarks passed by former Nationalist Party leader against Labour MP Rosianne Cutajar.
In a statement, the PL women’s branch said that in Parliament Cutajar asked for a clarification when Partit Demokratiku leader Marlene Farrugia made “serious allegations” against her (Cutajar).
It was at this moment that Busuttil, in a loud voice, said “issa hiereg l-gherf” (Let’s see what pearls of wisdom she’s going to come up with). This is not the first time, the statement said, that Busuttil offended other MPs.
The statement said Busuttil’s comments lacked respect towards a fellow MP.
