Prime Minister Joseph Muscat participated at the EU-Arab World Summit where he said that more opportunities between the two regions through higher investment in the next generations.
Muscat stressed that this should not be done within the context of countries closing their doors to each other politically and economically to protect themselves.
“When all of this is happening, there is need for roads to be built which lead to more joint effort and wider access to various economic markets,” Muscat said.
Muscat went on to say that both regions should work with the tools already in place, and forge cooperation like in the case of the EU’s Neighbourhood Policy.
“Malta wants Europe to remain the leading source which leads to more investment and development by, among others, using European funds and Arab funds so that together, digital and physical infrastructure can continue to be improved”, he said. The Prime Minister said this will lead to new opportunities. He stressed that Malta is at the forefront of Blockchain technology thanks to a national plan and regulations on crypto currency.
