Saturday, 18 November 2017, 14:54 Last update: about 7 years ago

Some 22,000 children are treated every year at the emergency section catering for the young ones at Mater Dei Hospital, Health Minister Chris Fearne said.

He said that when he graduated as a paediatrician Malta did not have surgeons who operated only on children. “Today, it is taken for granted,” he said.

Fearne also spoke about the government’s commitment to have a special hospital dedicated to women and babies.
