72% of Maltese are optimistic about their future, and 77% are optimistic about the future of their children, a government statement read quoting a recent survey.

The EU agency Eurofund had just published the first results from a survey involving all EU countries in 2016.

The government statement read that Maltese people ranked second in the EU when it comes to satisfaction with the economy.

"The Maltese are the least worried about losing their jobs, with only 5% expressing such concern. "This, when five years ago this number was double."

"The Eurofund survey indicates that our country has the highest level of satisfaction when it comes to childcare services, as well as elderly care services. The survey indicates that over the past five years there was an improvement in quality of public services, including healthcare services, public transport, and social housing."

"According to Eurofund, the Maltese government is the fourth most trusted government in Europe, with a strong increase in trust over the past five years."

"These results confirm how the good economic situation is, resulting in an improvement in quality of life."
