Prior to the beginning of a PN marathon, PN leader Adrian Delia engaged in a marathon of his own - he toured some of the party clubs to meet people gathered there.
He began at Zurrieq where he was accorded, he said, a beautiful welcome. Then onto Hamrun and later to Birkirkara, Gharghur, etc.
The aim was to show that the party is still relevant and looking forward.
The party is now engaged, Dr Delia told Radio 101 in a phone conversation, to meet as many people as possible and to bring back those who have fallen away. It aims to show them that the party still has a role to play and that they can all become part of it.
For the past two weeks, he added, a team of volunteers have contacted more than 6,000 persons who have let their membership lapse. There has been, he said, a very encouraging response, this time not quantifying the number of those who came back.
The party has some very loyal supporters, he added, and it is the only real opposition in Malta. The party is united and moving forward also thanks to the many volunteers who help out in so many ways.
