Monday, 22 January 2018, 18:07 Last update: about 7 years ago

An antique painting by Maltese artist Francesco Zahra has been stolen from St Philip’s Chruch in Isla.

The Archpriest of Senglea, Fr Robin Camilleri, told Newsbook that painting was in the convent corridor adjacent to the church.

The police have confirmed that an investigation into the theft has been launched.

The theft of the painting, which depicted a guardian angel, comes after a number of thefts from churches took place last year.
