Archbishop Charles Scicluna praises late Bishop Carmel Magro in funeral mass

The funeral service for late Bishop Silvester Carmel Magro, who served as the Apostolic Vicar of Benghazi in Libya from 1997 until 2016, took place today at the Mdina Cathedral.

Magro, who was born in Rabat, Malta on 14 February 1941, died at age 76 on Saturday 20 January at around 2.30am.

Archbishop Charles Scicluna led the mass, and praised late Bishop Carmel Magro for his work throughout his life.

The Archbishop said that the late Bishop decided to give his life to his flock. He said that the late Bishop gave his life to small communities made up of diverse nationalities.

Archbishop Scicluna concluded his homily by asking God to give the late Bishop peace in the afterlife.
