Five badly injured in three-car-collision in Burmarrad

A collision of three cars in Burmarrad this morning has left five out of the eight people involved badly hurt.

The incident happened shortly before 8.30 am in Triq Burmarrad.

The three cars involved in the crash were a Peugeot 206, driven by a 39-year-old man from Dingli, a Toyota Starlet with a driver and three passengers between 24 and 27 from Mosta, as well as a Toyota Corolla which contained two adults and a five-year-old child.

The four people inside the Toyota Starlet and the 39-year-old man driving the Peugeot 306 were grievously injured. The Civil Protection Department needed to intervene to bring the drivers of the two cars to safety.

The five-year-old boy and the driver of the Toyota Corolla (a 24-year-old male) suffered slight injuries whilst the third passenger was not injured.

An ambulance took all the people involved in the crash to Mater Dei. Police investigations are ongoing.
