Mater Dei A&E Department collects €5,741 to send Romanian victim back home

Mater Dei Hospital’s CEO Ivan Falzon has announced that the Accident and Emergency (A&E) Department has managed to collect €5741.19 to send the body of a Romanian accident victim back home for burial.

Dan Undrea, 38, tragically lost his life on Saturday 10 February when he was crushed by a tree while in his car. His wife was in the passenger seat and is being treated for her serious injuries.

Writing on Facebook, Falzon said the donations are now closed  and in total, online donations amounted to €5089, PayPal charges worth €233.81 and Cash donations amounting to  €886.

 “These monies will be given tomorrow to Ms Udrea by our MDH A&E team. We thank all of those that came forward with their donation, took initiatives to collect funds at your work place and others that went out of their way to drop their donation here personally. You all make us proud to be Maltese,” he wrote.
