The weather has not been kind to Carnival enthusiasts this year. Many of the events scheduled for the Carnival days had to be cancelled because of the strong winds and rain, and some have been re-programmed for this weekend, which is an unusual time for Carnival, since it is the first weekend of Lent.

People travelled to Valletta view the celebrations today. Floats and dancers filled St George's Square.
