Air Malta will soon operate a few new routes, which include a direct €39 one-way flight to London Southend, officials said today.
According to Air Malta Chairman Charles Mangion, the airline will operate a flight from Malta to Cagliari in Sardinia, Malta to London Southend, and flights between Cagliari and Catania.
The routes, he said, will be available in four weeks' time. London Southend was built for the Olympics in 2012, making it a fairly new airport. Air Malta will retain the Gatwick and Heathrow slots. It was also announced that Air Malta will lease its 10th aircraft this year.
