Ghanaian man charged with aggravated theft, remanded in custody

A Ghanaian man was charged with aggravated theft in the Gozo courts today, the police said.

The 37-year-old man – the police did not give the name – was charged with stealing €2,000 in cash from a winery in Fontana. He was also charged with receiving stolen goods.

Before magistrate Joanna Vella Cuschieri, the man pleaded not guilty. He was remanded in custody.

The prosecution was led by Bernard Charles Spiteri.
