Updated: Two found dead in suspected gas leak incident in Mġarr ix-Xini

Two people were found dead in what is believed to have been a suspected gas leak incident in Mġarr ix-Xini, Gozo. 

The two dead are 59-year-old Paul Muscat, a Gozo Channel captain from Sannat, and his partner, 52-year-old British national Diane Ainsley.

Their bodies were found in a boathouse.

Initial investigations show the couple could have been dead for at least three days.

The man is believed to have turned the boathouse into his residence.

Magistrate Joanne Vella Cuschieri is leading an inquiry. The police are also investigating. 

The road leading to Mgarr ix-Xini has been closed to traffic.
