Commenting about the situation of Consumer protection in Malta, Dr Fabri said:  "Once again we are lucky to secure a very special line-up of speakers for this year's annual Consumer Law conference, indeed an atypical list which for the first time includes a sociologist, an anthropologist and an economist. We are looking forward to this event, which is an annual opportunity, to take a closer look at where consumer protection fits within pro-business Malta."

Speakers include leading academics and professionals: Prof. Godfrey Baldacchino, pro-rector and Professor of Sociology at the University of Malta who will deliver this year's opening address; Dr David Zammit, head of the Department of Civil Law whose talk will be Compensating for Moral Damage in Civil and Consumer Law: a Case of Convergent Evolution?; Lawrence Zammit, economist and chairman of Misco will give an economist's perspective of consumer protection; Dr Annalies Muscat, senior associate at Mamo TCV Advocates and a lecturer in competition and consumer law will talk on Protecting the Consumer in the Digital Marketplace - Where are we so far? Finally, Dr Chiara Frendo and Dr Julienne Bencini, both Associates at GanadoAdvocates will jointly present their assessment of the workings of the Financial Services Arbiter institution to date.

The Annual Consumer Law conference will be held on 15 March inside the Chamber of Advocates Hall at the Courts of Justice in Valletta between 2 and 5.30pm. Registrations are open at €30 and €20 for students.
