The European Environment Agency has uploaded an infographic displaying the state of Europe's air quality this morning, with Malta's air quality being classified as 'very poor'.
The Air Quality Index examines the state of air quality in each EU member state over the last 100 days. With regards to Malta, 55 days had 'fair' air quality, 24 days were 'very poor', 9 days were 'good', 7 days were 'poor', and 5 days were moderate.
The European Environment Agency (EEA) is an agency of the European Union, whose task is to provide sound, independent information on the environment.
The EEA aims to support sustainable development by helping to achieve significant and measurable improvement in Europe's environment, through the provision of timely, targeted, relevant and reliable information to policymaking agents and the public.
