Masters Football: Jival win again, Valletta protest

In the CISK MASTERS DIVISION ONE LEAGUE, JIVAL continue with their  positive run when they beat leaders VALLETTA in an interesting game Making another step to challenge for promotion. After a balanceed first halp Valletta were leading 5-4. Jival played much better in the second half u turned the game in their favour with some exellent moves and finaly  won 9-6. For Jival Abubaker and Unigwe were the best and showed their striking power infron of goal with four goals each, whilst Etiennne Farrugia was the pick for Valletta and also scored two goals.

PROTEST

A day after the game against Jival, Valletta lodged a protest claiming that  they be given a win of 3-0 as Jival made use of an ineligible player. The Executive Committee will be discussing the protest in the coming days.

SUPER CUP

For the first time it ws agrred that a SUPER CUP competiton will be held with the participation of the first two in the Premier Division and the first two from Division One.

In the semi finals DINGLI DESaNA again showed their experience and classs, giving an exhibition of collective football to beat MELITA 12-4 and reach the final. They had some quality, amongst them  Malcolm Licari, Charlo Magro an Simon Shead. These  showed their striking power by scored three goals each.

MARSA WHItE STARS also reached the final when they beat VALLETTA 7-5 in an interesting game with some tension bulit up and referee sending off Etienne Farrugia for passing disrespectful remarks to the offcial.  Up to the end of the first half VALLETA were leading 3-2 and they Gilbert Agius showing his quality also scoring two goals. However after the rest period , Valletta lost all touch and Marsa  took the initiative . They were now superior and went on to win 7-5 with Gilbert Scerri again being in a scoring mood getting a hat trick..
