The Maundy Thursday Chrism Mass is being shown live from St John’s Co-Cathedral in Valletta.

This is the only mass that is celebrated on Maundy Thursday in the morning.

The emphasis is on the unity that was called for by Jesus among people who believed in him, particularly those who were entrusted with continuing his mission.

During this celebration, priests renewed their vows in their priestly vocation and pledged unity with their bishop and among themselves. Oil used during the year in the administration of sacraments is also blessed during this Mass.
