Part of the statue of the Risen Christ of Vittoriosa was ripped off by low wires as the traditional run took place this morning in the streets of the locality.

The right arm and the flag were torn off as the statue was carried in a run that symbolises Christ’s Resurrection.

The statue was sculpted by Salvu Psaila in 1883.
