San Gwann         0
Pembroke A       2

Pembroke had to wait till late to score two quick goals and obtained a more than deserved victory against a now demotivated San Gwann side. San Gwann goalkeeper Andrea Camilleri was the best man on the field of play, but his stunning saves were not enough for his side to obtain a point.

Pembroke were impressive in the first twenty minutes of the first half creating several scoring chances and pushing their opponets in their own penalty area. After barely three minutes play Priso made his way inside the area and shot slightly wide.

Five minutes later Igor Misan fired wide from the edge of the area and on 18 minutes Priso made his way on the right and crossed towards Misan whose close range shot was saved by Camilleri. San Gwann’s first attempt came on 23 minutes with Godwin Henshaw heading over the bar when well placed.

After the initial fury from Pembroke, San Gwann started to get more in the game and the match was evenly contested. On 43 minutes San Gwann were also unlucky when Godwin Henshaw’s header smashed against the crossbar following a good run on the left flank by Kyle Gatt.

On the resumption Pembroke went again on the offensive with Mifsud Triganza testing Camilleri with a low drive and on the hour a Doding Priso grounder slightly missed the base of the upright. On 64 minutes Camilleri saved his side with a daring sortie on Dino Cachia.

On 71 minutes goalkeeper Camilleri again saved his side deflecting Priso’s shot against the upright. Five minutes later a Mifsud Triganza lob hit the crossbar with Camilleri out of position.

On 78 minutes minutes Pembroke deservedly took the lead when Tyronne Fenech scored from close range following a Misan run on the right. Three minutes later Pembroke sealed the issue when Yanis Tonna was floored by Camilleri and from the penalty spot Doding Priso made no mistake.
