Le Méridien St Julian's Hotel & Spa has clinched a top European award that recognises its team for outstanding leadership throughout sales, revenue management, marketing and eCommerce.

The Elite Award, standing for Excellence, Leadership, Inspiration, Teamwork, and Execution, was bestowed to the team from Malta's five-star hotel, which distinguished itself from over 500 European property and regional teams for growing the business and providing excellent customer service.

"Le Méridien has continued to go from strength to strength over the past three years, with 2017 being an absolute record year in the 10 years of the hotel's existence in terms of performance and guest satisfaction," general manager Alex Incorvaja said.

"This could only be achieved through great teamwork and collaboration across all departments, while all the time ensuring we keep customer loyalty and expectations at the forefront," he added.

The award, the One Team Driving Results Award for the European continent, was handed out during Marriott's recent European conference held in Barcelona to reward its teams in brand, marketing, sales and consumer services.

Winning this European title means that Le Méridien will now go on to compete against other continents for the global Elite award in the same category later this month.

Le Méridien St Julian's Hotel & Spa will next year be transformed into the first Marriott hotel on the island and will reopen as Malta Marriott Hotel & Spa.
