Sirens                     0
Pembroke A        2

Two late goals in quick succession scored by Camilleri and Mifsud Triganza gave Pembroke a winning end to a rather difficult season. Pembroke started the season with a ten-point handicap and had to struggle at times to get from the bottom of the table.

In the end they managed to break off the relegation zone, but weighing their potential, they should have done even better. Yesterday's match was a typical end of season match, spectacular at times, with Sirens rather unlucky to leave the field empty handed. Priso had the first glimpse at goal on fifteen minutes beating a couple of opponents with his shot just missing the base of the upright with Sirens hitting back with a Michael Micallef drive well saved by Towns.

Minutes later Sirens went close with a Daniel Agius effort finishing against the crossbar. On 34 minutes it was Pembroke's turn to hit the woodwork with a powerful Mifsud Triganza drive smashing against the crossbar. And four minutes later the experienced striker repeated his feat with the ball again stopped by the crossbar.

Eight minutes into the second half the crossbar was rattled again, this time by Sirens striker Ethan Goodman and on 69 minutes the same ex Rabat striker was denied by two great saves from Towns.

On 74 minutes Pembroke broke the deadlock when a Mifsud Triganza shot was partially saved by Galea and from the rebound Christian Camilleri drilled home.

Two minutes later it was all over for Sirens as Mifsud Triganza finally found the back of the net with a grounder from the edge of the area.

Eight-goal thriller ends all square

Marsa   4
Melita   4

Marsa and Melita produced a dramatic saga in their last game of the season sharing eight goals in the process. Melita at least bid farewell with a positive performance after a bleak and disappointing season, culminated in the big drop to Division Two.

Marsa took the lead in their first attack on eight minutes when Marko Platisa scored a great goal from ana acute angle from the edge of the area. Minutes later Platisa was again on target but this time Grima saved in style.

On 17 minutes Marko Platis was tripped inside the penalty area by Daniel Cutajar and from the penalty spot the same Platisa made no mistake. Melita tried to recover after this double blow and Alan Borg Olivier tested Galea.

On 29 minutes Melita were back in business when Marsa defender Evair Grech scored a classic own goal in an attempt to clear. Just before the break Melita drew level when Luke Mifsud headed beautifully home a Cornago freekick

Eleven minutes into the second half Melita turned the tide in their favour when Cornago found the back of the net after a goalkeeper blunder. But Marsa leveled on 67 minutes when Paul Lapira found the bottom corner of the net.

Minutes later Mijic went close for the Redblues, who however forged again ahead with eight minutes remaining when Marko Platis beat Grima to obtain his hat trick. But there was more to come as Melita saved the game on 90 minutes with a Julian Abela header.

There were sparks after the final whistle with Melita's Toriano Singleton receiving a red card.
