England's Football Association has apologized to Tottenham and Manchester United for a tweet posted on the official FA Cup account following their semifinal at Wembley Stadium.
The tweet poked fun at the performance of Tottenham striker Harry Kane during United's 2-1 win on Saturday.
In a mock-interview style, the tweet read: "Me: What's that in your pocket, Chris?" before posting a video of United defender Chris Smalling saying: "Harry Kane." The tweet has since been deleted.
The FA said on Monday that Tottenham and United received a message from the governing body, apologizing for any offense caused.
Kane is one of England's key players heading into the World Cup. Smalling isn't even in England's squad.
