Shooting: Nicholas Carabott wins the Brincat Trap Trophy

Nicholas Carabott won the Brincat Trap at the Southern Shooting Club, an event that was organised on two qualification rounds of twenty-five clay targets each.

He was joined on the podium by Frank Scorfna and Eugenio Borg who took Silver and Bronze respectively.

The six Finalists in the Bib number order were;

John Marmara 46/50, Eugenio Borg 41/50, Nicholas Carabott 40/50+2+1, Frank Scorfna 40/50+2+0, Matthew Busuttil 40/50+0 and Carmel Briffa who qualified with Bib number six with the score of 39/50+2 after a two-way shoot-off with Joe Cardona.

This weekend's official overall results were:

1st Nicholas Carabott 24/25 + 5/5 + 3/5 + 4/5 + 7/10, total score 43/50

2nd Frank Scorfna 19/25 + 4/5 + 5/5 + 3/5 + 9/10, total score 40/50

3rd Eugenio Borg 18/25 + 4/5 + 4/5 + 3/5, total score 29/40

4th John Marmara 17/25 + 3/5 + 3/5, total score 23/35

5th Carmel Briffa 16/25 + 2/5, total score 18/30

6th Matthew Busuttil 15/25, total score 15/25

The top Shooters in their respective classes concluded their two qualification rounds with the following scores:

 

Class A

1st Eugenio Borg 41/50

2nd Nicholas Carabott 40/50 (Count Back Rule)

3rd Frank Scorfna 40/50

 

Class B

1st John Marmara 46/50

2nd Matthew Busuttil 40/50

3rd Carmel Briffa 39/50

 

Class C

Joe Cardona 39/50

2nd Steve Azzopardi 36/50

3rd Jason Magri 33/50
