Hibernians forward Alvaro Lizaur in the BOV Basketball Men’s 1st Division Player of the Month for April 2018. 6 foot 7 Lizaur, who earlier this season broke Hibernians jinx of not having a player win this award since April 1990, won his second individual award this season, leading his team to win the league for the first time, also since 1990.

Samantha Brincat, also from Hibernians also won her second award this season, and her fourth in her career, propelling Hibernians to the Women's Championship and also being declared the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the Women's Final playoff series.

Luxol's Vukassin Jandric won the award for the BOV Amateur League. Also, his second individual award this season, Jandric won his first award in October. Hailing from Serbia, his high scoring average, especially from the distance, helped Luxol to reach the semi-finals in the BOV Men's amateur league.

Peter Perotti, Chief Officer at Bank of Valletta presented a commemorative plaque to the winners. Bank of Valletta prides itself as a major supporter of sporting initiatives in Malta promoting sporting excellence in a healthy competitive environment.
