Alternattiva Demokratika Chairman Carmel Cacopardo will most likely run in the upcoming MEP elections he told this newsroom, adding that this is subject to approval by the party structures.

The AD had issued an external call in order to find all interested candidates, with a closing date of 2 June, for both potential MEP and local council candidates.

Cacopardo, speaking with The Malta Independent, said that they had fielded one candidate in the first MEP elections, and two in the subsequent ones.

He stressed that the Green Party will have a gender balanced list in the upcoming elections.

Following the call, the first list of candidates will be issued between October and November, he explained.
