A woman has been seriously injured after the car she was driving, a Touoto Vitz, was involved in a head-on crash with a car in Zebbug, the police said.

The accident took place in Siggiewi Road at 7am.

The 42-year-old woman, of Zurrieq, was taken to hospital for treatment.

The 45-year-old truck driver, of Hamrun, was unhurt.
