A man is in hospital with serious injuries after he was hit by a car in Pieta on Thursday evening, the police said.

The 26-year-old foreigner – no nationality was given by the police – was hit by an Isuzu Dmax being driven by a 26-year-old of Zurrieq.

The injured man, who resides in Msida, was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Magistrate Grazio Mercieca is leading an inquiry.
