Holders San Ġiljan continued their quest for a third consecutive KO as they defeated Valletta Videoslots 9-7. Dino Zammit was the hero for Marko Orlovic’s team scoring four goals in various sessions. Valletta had a positive performance as they defended bravely and at time they put their opponents in difficulty.
San Ġiljan won the first session 2-1 with the goals coming from Matthew Zammit and Dino Zammit, while Marton Toth equalised partially. Valletta responded in the second session and thanks to a goal by Keith Galea just before the end of the session, Bogdan Rath’s team finished the second session 4-3 in front.
The game continued on a slow and quiet rhythm as San Ġiljan went again in front, but Toth equalised for Valletta. Ben Plumpton made it 6-5 for San Ġiljan and Dino Zammit doubled the advantage from a man-up situation.
Plumpton made it 8-5 and paved the way for the win. Keith Galea responded immediately but Andreas Galea closed the game two minutes from time.
