Melita Nursery FC's U11 and U17 squads have won this year's Komm Mit Munich Summer Cup in their respective categories, while two other teams from U11 and U13 placed second. This was definitely one of the best results ever obtained by Melita FC Nursery teams in overseas tournament.
The U11s category final was an all Melita affair after both teams beat FC Irbis from Estonia and the other Melita U11 beat TSG Weinheim from Germany to reach the final. In the U13s category the Melita team lost to FC Rilindja from Kosovo, a team they had already beaten on their way to the final stages. In the U17s category the Melita team beat Fusion from the UK, All Star from Oman, FC Rilindja from Kosovo and SG Lobbach from Germany on penalties to reach the final and then went on to beat Enfidha Sport from Tunisia in the final game of this category.

Ben Cassar, from the Under 11 squad also won the top scorer award for the Under 11 Category.
The Komm Mit Munich Summer Cup was held between 6 July and 9 July in Munich. A total of 39 teams took part in 4 different age categories. The Melita Nursery FC contingent was made up four teams, two for the Under 11s category, and one team each for the Under 13s and Under 17s categories respectively. This year's summer camp attracted several German teams together with teams from Austria, Switzerland, Egypt, Finland, France, Italy, Kosovo, Germany, Belgium, Tunisa, Israel, Lebanon, Serbia and Latvia.

The boys together with their respective coaches and staff from Melita FC Nursery had been training since the end of season, hence they had a full month of intensive training consisting of two to three sessions weekly. This training schedule helped them keep up the level of fitness which was needed for this tournament. A first for Melita was the fact that the U11 teams took 4 players from the younger age group to participate with the older boys. This turned out to be a great idea given the performance.
