Simon Busutti’s position as a member of the Maltese parliament is no longer tenable in the wake of the conclusions of the Egrant inquiry report, which found no evidence that Prime Minister Joseph Muscat and his wife were the owners of a company in Panama, MEP Miriam Dalli said.

Busuttil had based his election campaign on a lie, she said, and should not represent the Maltese in Parliament, she says in her vlog today.

More than this, Busuttil should no longer hold a position on a panel of EU experts overseeing the appointment of Judges and Advocates General on the European Union Court of Justice, she said, and this is why she had written to EP President Antonio Tajani to call for Busuttil’s removal.
