Ten Romanians were arrested on Wednesday after they were caught gambling illegally at City Gate, Valletta, the police said.

Valletta police were tipped off to the activity, and initially arrested two persons.

Further investigations led to the arrest of eight other persons.

The police did not give the gender, nor the ages of the arrested persons.

The 10 Romanians are being held for questioning and are expected to be charged in court in the coming days.
