A man was seriously injured this morning in a traffic accident in Paola, the police said.

The accident took place in Santa Lucija Avenue at 9.20am.

A BMW driven by a 30-year-old man of Marsascala and a Peugeot 206 driven by a 33-year-old man of Birzebbuga were involved in the crash.

The 33-year-old driver was taken to Mater Dei Hospital with serious injuries.
