Two men were injured on Wednesday afternoon in a traffic accident in Birzebbugia, involving a head-on collision between a truck and a car. 

The truck, a Leyland DAF, was driven by a 60-year-old male from Hal Qormi whilst the Toyota Vitz was driven by a 26-year-old male from Valletta.

The district police were called on the scene as well as the Civil Protection Department to assist the driver from Valletta who was caught in his vehicle due to the impact.

Both drivers were taken to Mater Dei Hospital for the necessary treatment. The police are informed that both are suffering from grievous injuries.

The police are still investigating the accident.
