A toddler has died after after she fell four storeys down in the common parts of a block of apartments in Bahar ic-Caghaq this afternoon.

The toddler, a girl aged one year and five months, was taken to Mater Dei Hospital, th police said.

She is not Maltese but the police have as yet to establish her nationality.

The accident took place just after 3pm in Triq il-Lampara in Bahar ic-Caghaq.

Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo went on site and is leading an inquiry.

The police had initially been told that the baby was a boy.
