Positive opening for the new futsal season

The new futsal season gave a positive opening to Luxol St Andrews, Swieqi United, Tarxien Rainbows and University of Malta Students Futsal Team. Also during this week Valletta FC Futsal campaigned in the UEFA Futsal Champions League Main Round in Slovakia.

Former Mriehel ESS and now Birkirkara FC Futsal couldn't do better against Luxol St. Andrews and suffered a 7-1 loss. Luxol controlled well throughout the whole match, especially in the second half when they managed to score most.

During the first half Luxol were leading with the goals scored by Celino Alves and Gerge Frendo.

In the second half Luxol continued to score with two more goals from Celino Alves and a goal apiece for Maicon Da Silva Gaiewski, Zvezdan Vukovic and debutant Daniel Mifsud. Birkirkara scored their consolation goal through player coach Eslam Khalifa.

Swieqi United acquired their first three points beating Pieta Hotspurs 6-2. Tarxien Rainbows won against Luxol U19 in their first futsal appearence with the end result of 7-1. In the academic derby between UM Futsal Academy and University of Malta Students Futsal Team, the latter winning 9-1.

In their opening match in the UEFA Futsal Champions League Main Round, Valletta FC Futsal lost for only 4-3 against hosts Lučenec. In the second match, the Citizens only managed to grab a point against Araz Naxcivan, when they were denied by the post in the dying seconds. In the final match Valletta lost 5-0 against FK Vytis.
