In his vlog on the Mata Independent's website, MEP Francis Zammit Dimech states that this week he attended the unveiling of the portrait of assassinated journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia in the presence of her family and artist Marie Louise Kold.

The event took place in the Press Room named after the journalist at the European Parliament in Strasbourg. He thanked artist Marie Louise Kold for an impressive creative work of art in memory of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Zammit Dimech said that while in Malta the government and its officials are using culture and heritage as an excuse to denigrate and attempt to erase the memory of investigative journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, artists want to celebrate her legacy. He said that culture and art were being used at the European Parliament to honor press freedom and Daphne Caruana Galizia's work. He said that people will continue to seek the truth and justice.
