Following the Court of Magistrates' libel decisions on Thursday wherein The Malta Independent was ordered to pay damages amounting to €8,000 to the Prime Minister's chief of staff Keith Schembri, Kasco director Malcolm Scerri, and Nexia BT auditors Brian Tonna and Karl Cini in the two libel cases, The Malta Independent has decided to appeal these judgements in view of its disagreement with the conclusions reached by the Court.
