Five fantastic prizes given to participants in the survey

The results are in. This September we launched the 19th Definitive(ly) Good Guide to Restaurants in Malta & Gozo survey with the added incentive of prizes for those participants who vote for the largest number of restaurants and sent in their witty and informative comments.

Sponsored by HSBC & Global Payments, who have provided their support to demonstrate the importance of customer feedback in every successful business venture, this publication will shortly be launching its 19th edition.

The public was invited to rate their favourite contenders, which will in turn determine which restaurants will ultimately be published in the upcoming publication and portal. Diners were also asked to vote for the overall winner in most of the categories, from Family Friendly to Best Restrooms, Most Romantic to Best Business Entertainment even to name the Best Pet-friendly restaurant.

That means the awards are not a reflection of the best critically-acclaimed restaurants of the year; but an unbiased compilation of those most-loved by the people who actually eat there.

The response was overwhelming, with 3,153 surveys cast, and the survey winners are a fine-looking bunch, too, as you can see from the images.

A big well done to Chris Sultana who will surely relax during his luxury two night stay at the fortress hotel on the Water's Edge, Cugo Gran Macina Grand Harbour; Maria Grech Gerada will feel flash with a dozen of her mates during the one-hour ride in a Route 66 Hummer Limousine with free flowing prosecco; Massimo Abela gets green-fingered with his Herb Garden Trolley from Dical House, Fine Foods & Wellbeing Mosta; while both Loredana Falzon and Doryne Abela's voucher prize from Mirachem to spend on Mirachem wines and Riedel glassware respectively will come in handy while entertaining. Well done to all!

Not all the restaurant winners were selected by the public: the sponsors will decide on the Wine awards, Restaurant most dedicated to supporting local produce and Most popular offering vegetarian option awards.

All results will be revealed during the glitzy Restaurant Awards Gala Dinner on Monday, 3 December at Radisson Blu Resort & Spa, Golden Sands ‒ so be sure to save the date!  Alternatively you may pre-order your copy or register on www.restaurantsmalta.com for online access.
