Captain Jordan Camilleri was Malta's best scorer yesterday with four goals, followed by Ben Plumpton with three and Jeremy Abela with a brace.

National coach Karl Izzo had these comments after yesterday's match. "I am disappointed with the final score as we missed some clear chances in front of goal and also made some crucial mistakes in defence. Having said that, we had some very positive moments especially in the first session. The German team are physically superior and our team is quite a young team and lack of experience which proved costly.  Each international match we play will help us in the future."

These were the comments of ASA President Joe Caruana Curran.

"The ASA will continue providing opportunities to participate in prestigious international competitions especially to the younger players who will form the back bone of the future national teams.  We must appreciate the positive and the negative aspects of such matches and learn from these experiences.  I would like to thank the Coaches and the players for their effort, dedication and hard work which makes water polo even more popular and continues to keep Malta's name high even within the European circles. Thanks is also due to the local clubs for their support and cooperation. Last but not least, I thank our sponsors without who's support such international participation would not be possible."
