‘No entry’ signs in road leading to Spinola Bay in St Julian's ‘temporary’

Tuesday, 27 November 2018, 15:16 Last update: about 6 years ago

The no entry signs that have been affixed on the stretch of road leading from the Regional Road bridge to Spinola Bay in St Julian’s are “temporary”, The Malta Independent is informed.

Residents of St Julian’s contacted these offices to express their concern when they saw no entry signs being affixed this morning. The road is a main access to the central part of the town, and its closure would result in more traffic congestion.

But contacted by this newspaper, deputy mayor Albert Buttigieg said that the no entry signs – which have since been covered by black garbage bags – are temporary and will only come into force when Transport Malta will be asphalting the stretch in the coming days.

He said that the council has been informed that the stretch will remain a two-way system once the works are completed.
