Malta Federation of Professional Associations conference on professional ethics

Thursday, 29 November 2018, 13:13 Last update: about 6 years ago

The Malta Federation of Professional Associations strongly feels that our sector's strict adherence to ethical values constitutes much more than a mere legal obligation. It is for us the ultimate guarantee of a high quality service to the consumer and the cornerstone of a relationship of trust between the professional and the clients/patients.

One of the current most important objectives of MFPA is to develop initiatives that accentuate professional ethics at a national level and including collaboration with member EU states.

It is our contribution towards a competitive and ever-growing economy that remains at the service of citizens. Earlier this year MFPA was awarded funds by the Malta Council for Voluntary Sector (MCVS) to implement the project Professional Ethics: Safeguarding the service to the consumer.

This project aimed to encourage research on professional ethics at a national level to evaluate the situation at a local context and disseminate information so an action plan can be devised on the current challenges and difficulties.

Two different surveys were carried out. The first was held amongst university students and new graduates to evaluate their perception on the importance of professional ethics. The second research looked at the end user's perceptions on services offered by professionals in Malta.

A conference will be held on Friday 30 November 9:00 - 13:00 at Cavalieri Art Hotel, St Julian's to present the research findings. Booking is required on [email protected] or 99471287.
