In the first 10 months of the year, the police received more than 1,000 reports of domestic violence in Malta, Labour MEP Miriam Dalli said.

Although today there is greater awareness and action has been taken to curb the abuse, much more needs to be done to help women (and the few men) who have to face such issues.
