One of the three men accused of murdering journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia last year was taken to a private hospital in Zabbar, Inews reports.

The news portal also carried a photograph of George Degiorgio, accompanied by hooded security officers, walking in handcuffs towards the hospital.

Degiorgio has complained about degrading and inhumane treatment in a judicial protest he filed earlier this week.

The judicial letter, filed by lawyer William Cuschieri in the First Hall of the Civil Court, says that Degiorgio has been suffering from “persistent and unendurable pain” in his shoulder for several months.
