The Nationalist Party's Deputy Leader for Parliamentary Affairs David Agius is to contest the election for the post of President of the European Union of Christian Democratic Workers (EUCDW) of the European People's Party.

The EUCDW comprises 24 movements of workers from 18 European Union member states.

Between Friday and Saturday the Congress of the EUCDW will be held in Vienna, which will also see the presentation of a congress document. The document focuses on strengthening the social dimension of the European Union. Social protection, climate, clean environment and a healthy life, innovation in renewable energy and security are all issues where the European Union can make a difference.

Among the participants in this congress will be the European Commissioner Marianne Thyssen.
The Deputy Head of PN David Agius will be accompanied by a delegation of the Solidarjeta Ħaddiema Partit Nazzjonalista (SĦPN) composed of David Battistino, Neville Cassar, Alexandra Farrugia, Joseph Galea and David Grech.
