Building and industrial automation expert JMartans Automation has moved to new premises in Malta, spurred on by business growth over the past 18 months, the company said in a statement. The new premises, which will officially open in January 2019, are located on the Mosta Technopark in Mosta, Malta and will give the company more space to work on more projects for customers, including larger scale automation projects across a range of industry sectors.

JMartans Automation provides a full automation service, from the design and building of systems to their installation and programming, and alsosupplies spare industrial parts. The company is partnered with several automation and control system brands such as Belimo and Beckhoff, the latter of which named JMartans Automation as its official partner for Malta.

In addition to increasing the company’s capacity for projects, the move to the new premises brings with it a recruitment drive. JMartans is currently seeking additional technical staff to help the company deliver its engineering services across the Maltese community and the wider European industry. These engineers will be responsible for creating high quality systems and ensuring they meet customer needs.

“The popularity of the internet of things (IoT) is leading more people to consider automating their premises and processes with the help of experienced companies,” explained Jonathan Grech, director of JMartans Automation. “This increased receptiveness to automation has been an influencing factor in our recent growth.

“We’re actually seeing much of this interest come from sectors outside traditional manufacturing, particularly inmarine engineering and buildings. Facilities managers are increasingly seeing the value in automating certain building processes, such as ventilation and energy usage, through the use of building management systems (BMSs). These systems allow managers to get a better understanding of their building’s key functions, while controlling energy costs and maximising visitor comfort in the process.

“This trend in automation will continue in the coming years, so it’s important that businesses work with an experienced provider of automation systems and equipment. Our new facilities allow us to bring our expertise to more customers and, on bigger projects, ensure more companies discover the benefits of automation.”

JMartans Automation has been serving the industrial, domestic and building automation sectors since 2005, before the smart building and home IoT markets grew in popularity. In addition to industrial and building automation, the company also offers technology for smart homes and control systems for marine applications such as superyachts.
