63% of Maltese trust government - Eurobarometer

The latest Eurobarometer shows that 63% of Maltese have trust in the Maltese government.

A government statement read that 68% of Maltese believe things in Malta are heading in the right direction, a government statement read, which is far higher than the EU average of 35%.

This, government said, is a record for the country, and double the last such statistic pre-2013.

 The survey, government says, shows that 63% of the people trust government. "This is an absolute record since such statirtics began being recorded, and contrastgs the 34% who trusted government in 2012," government said, adding that the average in the EU was 35%.

Government also said that, 95% of the Maltese respondents reported that the economy was doing well. "Optimism in Malta is nearly double that in the EU." Government said that in 2012, more than half of respondents felt the economy was doing badly. This percentage today reduced to 3% government said.

The statement also read that 92% of families ranked their financial position as good.
