I heard that a development permit has been issued for bungalows in Triq Tomba, Nadur. This is outside development zone and is underneath the ridge, where there is the old Nadur Cemetery. In addition to being a considerable out-thrust into ODZ, the prospect for development here will open the door for more building in the area known as il-Ġebel l-Aħmar. I looked up the Planning Authority Map Server and found permits to restore rubble walls only. However, what I heard seems to come from reliable sources.

I here wish to raise a red flag for the damage that this development will make on an open space in ODZ, how this will affect the view of Nadur from the Gozo Channel, Qala, Ghajnsielem and Mgarr.

I wish to declare my vehement opposition to such development and ask the help of environmental NGOs to oppose this development.

I wish to tell the people of Nadur not to support and respect fake benefactors, and not to be blinded by their contributions. Even the setting off of fireworks will be affected. They are building a straitjacket around us which is slowly strangling us, and this is happening with the full blessing of the PA which has the primary role of defending the natural environment.
